Do you need a table in your living room?

Is it strictly necessary to have a table in a living room?
This is a design-based choice which depends on the room in question, and whether it is a designated living room or an open space.

For example, if you have a kitchen that you can sit down in, it may not be necessary for you to have a table in your living area. On the other hand, if there is no table in your kitchen, either because there is insufficient space or because you have opted for a kitchen island with stools, then a table in the living-room area becomes essential.

ALTERNATIVES TO A TABLE IN THE LIVING ROOM

The Transformable Table

Transformable Coffee Tables are usually quite large and are not always compatible with Corner Sofas or Sofas with a Chaise Longue: living rooms with these types of sofas are usually more suited to an Ottoman or a smaller Coffee Table

The beauty of a Transformable Coffee Table is its 2-in-1 function as both a coffee table and a dining table, allowing you to save on space and cost.

Transformable Tables can usually accommodate a maximum of 6 or 8 people.

THE EXTENDING CONSOLE TABLE

Extending Console Tables also have a 2-in-1 function, being both a console table and a dining table. As a console table, this piece of furniture is more decorative than functional.

Often, the transformable coffee tables are a better choice, unless you have a wall in your living room which would be perfect for a console table.

The undeniable benefit to an Extending Console Table, in comparison to a Transformable Coffee Table, is that some console tables can be made long enough to accommodate up to 10 or 12 people.
