The stained beech finish is made with a through-painting that leaves the wood grain visible; the colour is desaturated compared to the matte lacquer finish, which instead has a solid color. The color reference is indicative, as the varnish can take on different shades depending on how it is absorbed by the underlying wood grain, and can therefore be fuller or more veiled.
