Description

The Sofì lamp with hand-blown glass globes by Bonaldo features a burnished brass cylindrical tube that contains the lighting body, an element which, in addition to the name of the lamp, pays homage to the age-old glass-blowing traditions of the Venetian masters.
Sofì's added value is expressed by the diversity of shapes, sizes and finishes of the lampshades resulting from manual processing, irregularities that make each piece unique. Sofì is available in the single suspension model, suspension model with 5, 7, 10 or 13 globes, wall light, table lamp or floor lamp versions.

Borosilicate glass: borosilicate glass is a stout material, known for its qualities of temperature jumps resistance and for its low dilation coefficient. It also presents excellent characteristics of workability, transparency and sturdiness that make it suitable for various uses: from precision instrumentation to everyday domestic appliances.
Blown Glass: the glass is composed of silica with the addition of sodium carbonate. At very high temperatures these powders melt and become malleable glass, which can then be worked with different techniques and forge wonderful creations. Blown glass is the result of an artisanal process. It is a hand-made product that does not involve any industrial or mass production process. Despite the abilities of the artisan, every glass will be different from the other in terms of size, shape and finish. Every glass blown by the “Mastro vetraio” (master of glass) is unique and special. No imperfection, in terms of size, shape and finish, is a defect, but rather the distinguishing feature of a hand-made product.
Burnishing: the burnishing effect, which is a deliberately induced oxidation, does not seal the material. It forms what is known as a "living surface". Already uneven when in a new condition, it changes over time and, in the same way as bronze, forms a natural patina.
