Bedroom Project 280524
Customer request
We would like to furnish the bedroom area of our new home and would like to use your design service. We would like a project for a large and spacious room with a high sloping attic ceiling and exposed wooden beams painted white, like all the other walls. The floor is tiled with large rectangular tiles in shades of beige. The room's special feature is the large, high glass window that occupies an entire wall and offers a scenic view of the forested area in which our house is situated. It is important for us to maintain this panoramic view and we would also like the furniture to reflect the surrounding nature in some way. We would like to have a large wardrobe and storage area.
Interior Designer's comments
Newly built house on Swiss territory in the Bellinzona area, in a location in a wooded area where lush nature reigns supreme. The room features a large window that offers a breathtaking view of the forest. The room is an attic and has very high ceilings with exposed beams. Starting from this particular setting, the diotti.com interior designers have created a design for a room with a bed in the middle of the room and a wardrobe area behind. This configuration was the result of careful planning, and this proposal is the result of taking into account the customer's requirements, the layout of the room and its strengths and special features.
In detail, it is a double bedroom with a bed in the middle of the room leaning against a plasterboard wall with wooden panelling behind which is the wardrobe.
The bed in the centre allows for maximum enjoyment of the view. The isolated area far from the town, combined with the fact that the mountain slope has no travel routes, also made it possible to opt for a window without curtains and drapes, ensuring an excellent view at any time of the day.
Specifically, a double bed 172 cm 220 cm d with a thin padded bed frame 5 cm h and transparent methacrylate feet 21 cm h, upholstered in Carabu col.49 fabric, was included in the project. This forest geen double bed echoes the colours of the landscape that can be admired from the adjacent window. The headboard consists of two upholstered cushions that can be reclined and folded down on occassion. In moments of rest, they can also be raised to make full use of the length of the mattress; when relaxing in bed, the cushions can be reclined to comfortably support the back and head.
Next to the bed are two square floor standing bedside tables with 2 drawers in matte white lacquer with a groove opening in matte black lacquer that crosses the fronts vertically.
The bed is placed next to a drywall partially covered with horizontal wooden beams that create a boiserie effect, at the same time resembling the bark of tree trunks. A wall that protrudes from the bed and bedside tables but does not reach the ceiling to avoid adding weight to the room.
This wall has an aesthetic, funcional and furnishing purpose. It is an effect barrier that visually divides the room into two: on one side the actual sleeping area, on the other the wardrobe. Internally, it provides for the passage of power cables that allow the lights in the room to be switched on while in bed and ensures the possibility of electrical sockets for charging small electronic devices such as mobile phones and smartwatches.
Behind the wall, a convenient corridor is created to provide a wardrobe area, almost transforming the space into a walk-in wardrobe. The wardrobe takes up the entrie wall: it is a customised wardrobe with 8 doors, 255,6 cm high and 62,2 cm deep, made of loto Natura textured melamine with square Brown lacquered metal grooves. A top and side infill strip has been provided for an even more striking aesthetic effect. All modules are equipped internally with a shelf and two hanging tubes. To increase the storage and organisational capacity, drawer units with 2 or 4 drawers and additional shelves have been inserted in some modules. The result is a capacious wardrobe for two, with space to store hanging or folded clothes. In front of the wardrobe, leaning against the drywall, are two 5-drawer chests of drawers 60 cm 45 cm d 111 cm h offering additional storage space for personal linen and bedding.
The double bedroom project with bed in the centre has been carefully designed down to the smallest detail, starting with the central position chosen for the bed. The result is an elegant and functional master bedroom with a view, for two people who can enjoy the panorama in comfort.
