Bedroom - Home Office Design Project 3403
Customer's Request
We would like your help to design this room which will partially be used as a guest room and partially as a home office (we work from home quite often). Concerning the sleeping area we would like a sofa bed (we've already found a model we like) and two side wardrobes on the right and on the left side (above the sofa we want some space to put pictures). As far as the home office area is concerned we would like a desk next to a display case and a chest of drawers (outlets are already present). Please send me some suggestions on how to use at best this environment. As to colours we like neutral shades with some blue details.
The Interior Designer's Comment
The bedroom has been organised by using the area on the left side of the entrance as home office and the right area as a guest bedroom while keeping in mind the electric systems that are already present. The wall for the home office has been completely filled with a customised wardrobe which is functional and aesthetically in line with the client's tastes. We used the bigger depth at disposal to place a column with drawers and display case, after that we added some wall units (one with hinged doors and one with flip-up door) and as a last element we added some shelves. These are cut to fit the wall on the window side. The wall units lower side has been equipped with a desk standing on a drawer-unit, whose top can be also used as a convenient surface for guests.
The area with the wardrobe is furnished with a customised closet equipped with some side modules proposed by the client as well as a bridge unit with hinged doors to offer more storage space and give a more harmonious layout to the composition. The bridge elements are reduced in height in order to gain some space to insert two shelves to be used as surfaces for pictures or decorative items.
The chosen sofa bed is a model with removable cover, easy to open, which can be selected with one or two colours. We propose the version in one colour, with a stain-resistant fabric matching the one of the office chair.
The environment finishes go from grey to a peculiar concrete effect. Indigo colour defines some details as handles and shelves, adding an original touch.
