Kids Bedroom Design 3468

Customer's Request
I would like to rearrange my young daughter's bedroom, with a space-saving single bed and a wardrobe for her clothes. I would add a large mirror and a workspace with a desk. As for the colours, I like warm tones mixed with some brighter shades. The only limitation to this project is the bed's positioning that must remain adjacent to the inner wall of the room, sadly the outer ones are cold and not very convenient. The floor is made of wood, whilst the door and windows are white.

The Interior Designer's Comment

The bedroom is rather compact and given the constraint of the bed location, the arrangement of the furniture was designed accordingly. The ideal bed, based on its characteristics is Birba: extremely customisable in terms of modularity and finishes, with an additional under-bed functional space which provides further storage capacity for toys and other items, thus ensuring a tidy and well-organised room. Among the various covering solutions available, we have chosen a coloured faux leather, which will turn out to be rather convenient in daily use. Beside Birba stands Sidony: a full-length mirror which, with its padded frame, makes it a perfect match to the bed, preserving the identical faux leather. The sleeping area is completed with Almond, a bedside table with two drawers in sand finish and cinnamon recess.

Facing Birba, the wardrobe Midley Wide with four recessed doors. Its reduced depth creates more freedom of movement within the room while maintaining a high-capacity storage and customisation thanks to the vast selection of modular inner components that can be integrated. Last but not least, a bookcase end element prevents a closing effect and exploits the available space, maximising its functionality. The chosen finish is a sand open-pore lacquered oak, while the accent tone has been used for the recessed grip with an amphora lacquer.

The study area is made up of Almond, a desk which, with the variations in depth of the surface, allows for reduced overall volume towards the top of the entrance door to the room.  The 5 cm thick top is held up by a metal L-shaped side panel matching the structure colour, and by a chest of two drawers with recess and spacer. The colour combinations reflect the mood of the bedroom and recall those previously selected for the bedside table. To complete the study area, two 5cm thick Almond shelves as well as a comfortable executive chair Modus without armrests, in Brandy-coloured leather.
