I have an open space living area and I would like some help to design the kitchen, I have seen a picture of a layout I really like, which is your Five 05 kitchen, composed of a series of floor cabinets and wall units as well as a series of columns with oven and a middle isle with hob. I would like to keep everything as in the picture but I would like to remove the isle and replace it with a rectangular table. I would like the kitchen to have a handle, wall units 60 cm high and a full height splashback between wall units and cabinets. Two things are essential for me: the kitchen cabinets have to be lined up with the stairwell and the length of the column layout must be exactly the same as the wall. All walls are white and the floor is light coloured: I prefer two-tone finishes like white matched to a smoke knotted oak.
The Interior Designer's Comment
By following the indications of the client and starting from the image of his favourite layout we have adapted the modularity of the kitchen to the space at disposal. First we draw an ideal line from the stairwell to the wall, in this way we left the right space between the linear layout and the columns. The composition with cabinets and wall units is equipped on the lower part with 4 baskets, dishwasher, drawers and an element with open compartment which is set at the end of the layout so it can ensure the right space where to put things on the side of the cooking hob. The top and splashback are in stone effect, as in the picture. The upper part is equipped with wall units with drop down doors with alternated heights of 36 and 60 cm, they include a hood just above the burners. Here too we added L-shaped open elements so that we can maintain a certain symmetry and dynamism of the layout.
The whole right side wall has been furnished with a series of columns equipped as following: storage column, fridge column, oven column, a second storage column and a side open shelving, perfectly in line with the end of the wall.
In the middle of the kitchen we placed a fixed table by choosing a design model that comes with a big enough size for a good number of guests. The finish we've chosen is Carrara stone, as it is neutral and elegant and matches well the white cabinets and wall units. The base has a particular shape and since the pedestal is in the middle it allows for more space for the guests compared to the models with legs on the four corners.
The kitchen features a chromed handle and it can be equipped with a bar where to hang your cooking accessories and led lights under the wall units. Finishes are white lacquer for the cabinets and wall units, smoke knotted oak for columns and taupe lacquer for the open compartments.
